Arsenal's transfer pursuit of Youri Tielemans has continued for over one-year now, with links suggesting they could make a switch in the upcoming January window or on a free transfer next summer. However, fresh reports claim that there may be doubts emerging over a switch for the Belgian.
It comes ahead of a potentially huge winter period for the Gunners, who could look to strengthen their depth to continue their great start to the season. Mikel Arteta has guided his team to top of the Premier League at the World Cup break, but there are concerns over their options beyond the first-team.
"Obviously with the position that we are in right now as well, it demands as well another level of player - and that player has to be available," The Spaniard said on planning for the January window ahead. "We will look at everything and let’s see what we can do."

It suggests that the club are currently ahead of their projected position before the season, resulting in a rethink over their plans for the window. That switch could see them put off a transfer for Tielemans now, with claims that there are now doubts over his current ability.
Transfer expert Dean Jones claimed that in a discussion with GiveMeSport, saying: "think they need to make sure that he’s still the same player that they thought he was when they were beginning their pursuit. This is a year-long thing now since Arsenal have been looking at Tielemans.
"There’s obviously some reservations around it given they didn’t go and sign him in the summer when they could have.” It remains to be seen if that will result in a change of plans, but it could prove to be a huge twist in the Tielemans transfer saga.
