football.london understands the Gunners are interested in signing a left-sided defender this summer. Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his defensive options ahead of next season, with Juventus also interested in signing Gabriel Magalhaes.
Promising Chelsea defender Levi Colwill is not shy of suitors this summer, with Arsenal and Crystal Palace amongst the clubs said to be interested in securing a deal for the 19-year-old. football.london understands that the Blues are set to complete a £33million deal for Kalidou Koulibaly after the Senegal international completed a medical earlier this week.

William Saliba returned to the Emirates Stadium this summer following a stellar campaign with Marseille, winning Ligue 1's Young Player of the Year award. The French defender has two years left on his current deal with the Gunners but has offered no indication of a renewal yet and is yet to play a first-team game since joining the club from Saint-Etienne in 2019.
Get French Football News claim that Saliba has no intentions of extending his contract in North London at present, leaving his long-term future with the club up in the air. This could then prompt the Gunners to make a move for their Premier League rivals' talented defender as a long-term contingency plan should 21-year-old leave the Emirates Stadium.
The Daily Mail have reported that Chelsea could look to sell the 19-year-old centre-back this summer and football.london understands that the Blues are in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe. Thomas Tuchel is keen to add top quality options to his defence following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
Nathan Ake was a transfer target for the Blues but the Dutch defender has since decided to stay put. The Gunners are one of five Premier League clubs interested in potentially poaching Colwill from Stamford Bridge with Leicester City, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Everton also keen.
Colwill enjoyed a successful loan spell with Huddersfield last season, helping the club reach the Championship play-offs and making a total of 32 appearances in all competitions. Mikel Arteta has shown he is willing to give youth a chance at Arsenal with the development of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli, something which could be a key factor in Colwill's transfer decision.
