Ambitious Arsenal are ready to leave their rivals reeling as they push to sign Jeremie Frimpong - according to multiple reports.
Bild state Mikel Arteta is major admirer of the 22-year-old and view him as a talent who will only improve under his guidance. And the leading German outlet have revealed the Gunners are poised to move in a £35m deal once Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice are rubber-stamped. That is music to the ears of Celtic who retain a significant sell-on fee for the star who joined current club Leverkusen for £11m in January 2021 amid the Parkhead side's botched bid for 10-in-a-row.
He has impressed with his rampaging style in the Bundesliga with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United poised to make their move this summer. And Arsenal's interest only adds weight to the belief Mikel Arteta is willing to shake-up his formation at the Emirates with new arrival Timber also adept at right back. And it could also work out as good news for Kieran Tierney who may prove a better fit as an advanced wing-back or as part of a new-look back three which the Spaniard appears to be considering. Reports in Germany state Frimpong "fits exactly" what Arsenal want to do and he and Arteta both spent shared time together at Manchester City.
