Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Ben White set for England team news decision vs USA

Arsenal superstar Bukayo Saka is expected to start for England against the USA in an unchanged side as Ben White looks set to remain amongst the substitutes.

Saka was the star of the show for the Three Lions in their 6-2 win against Iran as the Gunners forward scored two brilliant goals. Gareth Southgate named the 21-year-old in his starting lineup ahead of Manchester City talent Phil Foden, a decision which paid off as England started their World Cup campaign in stunning fashion.

Saka has been a crucial player for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta with the Gunners sat top of the Premier League at Christmas, five points ahead of reigning champions City. Ben White's form saw him be rewarded with an England call-up for the tournament in Qatar, but he is yet to feature for Southgate's side.

Southgate looks set to stick with the same team that beat Iran 6-2 in England's opening World Cup fixture which will see him stay with a 4-2-3-1 formation, opposed to his usual 3-5-2 setup, according to The Telegraph. Saka looked at home alongside Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane in attack as he caused the Iranian defence problems throughout the game until he was replaced with 20 minutes left to play on Monday.

Harry Maguire had to come off with an illness during the win against Iran, but has recovered in time for the clash against the USA and looks set to partner John Stones in defence once again. Jude Bellingham played a key role in midfield alongside Declan Rice after opening the scoring with a fine header in the first half.

Saka will be hoping to add to his two goals as he continues to impress for the Three Lions with a potential World Cup golden boot charge on the cards. Kane was a doubt for the game against the Americans after suffering an ankle injury on Monday, but the England captain took part in training ahead of this evening's match and is set to lead the Three Lions out onto the pitch once again.
