Arsenal drop early Everton team news hint as Mikel Arteta faces huge Gabriel Martinelli decision

Arsenal may have dropped a major hint surrounding the team news for Wednesday night's clash with Everton on social media. The Gunners host the Toffees at the Emirates Stadium in a major clash that is set to impact both ends of the table, no matter the result of it.

The match is a game in hand for both over their league rivals, with the original tie rearranged due to Arsenal's Europa League tie with PSV Eindhoven taking the date of the first game following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II last year. The Premier League took their time finding a suitable slot to play the fixture, picking March 1.

Mikel Arteta will be hopeful of seeing a better performance from his side than they showed against their opponents last time out, losing 1-0 courtesy of a James Tarkowski header. The circumstances of the tie didn't help them either, being the first match under new boss Sean Dyche in front of an emphatic Goodison Park crowd.

A win in the reverse fixture would mean that Arsenal move five points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League table, while their opponents are eyeing a league double to boost their hopes of survival. "Obviously with Sean [Dyche] it’s quite clear what he’s done and where the success that they’ve had is coming from and tomorrow they will prepare the game in a similar game, I expect," Arteta told reporters on the opposition.

"With every manager it’s the same, we have to look at certain matches, what they do to get the right tactics to beat them but as well the same mentality and expectation of what we demand in the game.”

One of the key decisions facing Arteta is his team selection, with increased depth adding further options to which team he may start. Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka were the front three starting against Leicester, though the latter appears the only one guaranteed another start.

Martinelli and Trossard have often been rotated since the signing of the Belgian in January, with a potential recall for Eddie Nketiah throwing questions over which may be benched for the game. The Arsenal social media may have hinted towards the decision with a post before the game.

As part of a pre-match hype graphic, the main image used was that of Martinelli, potentially hinting at him starting in the clash. However, this isn't guaranteed as some players posted in those graphics aren't always given the nod for the games afterwards.
