Arsenal 'dismiss reports' they are in discussions with Mikel Arteta's replacement

With the business end of the season fully underway, Arsenal are currently in pole position to finish in one of those all-important Champions League places.

It’s a surprise to the majority as the expectation was that the north Londoners would suffer yet another disappointing league campaign, with both Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu criticised immensely for the recruitment strategy taken overt the summer.

But with the Gunners in fourth position in the Premier League during the international break and with at least one game in hand on the teams directly behind them, it’s fair to say that each summer signing has been a huge hit so far, with Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White and Martin Odegaard all delivering stellar impacts.

Certainly, it's been a great season for Arteta who has managed to make his blueprint more visible to the majority, including pundits and ex-players.

The Spaniard is expected to be part of the club's long term future, which is why recent reports claiming that Arsenal are in dialogue with Brazil's head coach Tite were rather surprising. Tite is expected to step down after the 2022 Qatar World Cup and Eric Faria, from Brazilian outlet TV Globo, provided more information on the situation.

"There is already a negotiation of Tite to work in English football. To work at Arsenal. He worked with Edu Gaspar. There is the intention, negotiations have started", said Faria, via ESPN.

The latest developments from journalists João Castelo-Branco and Thiago Cara, however, unsurprisingly suggest otherwise, stating that Arsenal have made it very clear there is so far 'nothing' going on with Tite.

Arteta's current deal at the Emirates ends in summer 2023 and it's already been reported that the Kroenke family have begun discussions over a new bumper contract, as they have complete faith in the former club captain's ability to bring back the glory days to N5.
