Arsenal ‘definitely feeling the pressure’ from Man City, says Michail Antonio after behind the scenes talk

Michail Antonio has lifted the lid on a conversation he held with a member of the Arsenal staff after West Ham’s dramatic draw with the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s Premier League leaders raced into a two-goal lead in east London on Sunday but were pegged back to drop points for the second game in a row.

A penalty from Said Benrahma and a Jarrod Bowen volley cancelled out early goals from Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard on a hugely disappointing day for Arsenal.

After draws against Liverpool and the Hammers, Manchester City now trail the Gunners by only four points and also boast a game in hand.

Arsenal’s recent run of results makes their trip to the Etihad Stadium next week not only a mouth-watering affair but a title-decider too.

Antonio has now revealed a member of the Arsenal staff informed him some of the Gunners players were heard discussing City’s form, something they had not done until this point.

“I heard this from someone that works at Arsenal. All season they’ve been concentrating on themselves, just playing how they play. They’ve been playing so well,” he told The Footballer’s Football Podcast.

“But last week, when they drew with Liverpool, and City got that bit closer, it was the first time all season that this person – I’m not going to say who the person is – heard players start talking about City and how well City’s been playing.

“So they are definitely feeling the pressure from City chasing them.”
