Arsenal dealt major Serge Gnabry transfer blow as Edu identifies William Saliba replacement

Arsenal have completed four summer signings so far ahead of next season. The Gunners spent upwards of £150million last summer and could reach a similar figure this summer.

Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and Matt Turner have all sealed moves to the Emirates Stadium. It seems as though Mikel Arteta is showing little sign of slowing up, however.

A desire to improve squad depth and quality as well as moving others on will likely see plenty more activity out of the Emirates Stadium. With that said, football.london takes a look at the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Serge Gnabry transfer blow

According to Kicker, former Arsenal star Serge Gnabry and Bayern Munich are confident that they’ll reach an agreement for a contract extension beyond 2023. The Gunners have been linked with a move for the German forward after Bayern signed Liverpool star Sadio Mane this summer with Gnabry entering the final year of his contract.

William Saliba replacement

Arsenal have become the latest Premier League side to join the race to sign Josko Gvardiol, with Media Foot suggesting that the Gunners could bid for the RB Leipzig defender if William Saliba leaves the Emirates this summer.

football.london understands Mikel Arteta wants to bring in a new left-sided defender. Having seemingly missed out on Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez, Arsenal could make a move for Gvardiol but face competition from Manchester City.

Carney Chukwuemeka absence

Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard has handed Arsenal a major transfer boost after leaving the talented Carney Chukwuemeka out of Villa's pre-season squad to continue his training at Bodymoor Heath, as BirminghamLive reported.

Chukwuemeka has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal with Villa and is attracting interest from teams across Europe, including Arsenal, with 90min having reported that the Gunners have joined the race to sign the 18-year-old.
