Arsenal could compete with Tottenham this summer for defensive targets, with Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson believed to be on the radar of both clubs.
The centre-back has been a key player this season for the Turkish Super Lig club as they won their first league championship since 2019. Spurs are thought to be keen to improve their defence this summer, with the 10-times capped Danish defender emerging as a candidate to improve the squad.
The right-footed defender has made 62 appearances during two seasons in Turkey, with a title win the climax of an impressive stint in Turkey for the 24-year-old. Having initially progressed through the renowned FC Nordsjælland youth setup, he has since developed to the point that he is now drawing interest from Europe's top clubs.
Earlier this week, Tottenham were reported in the Turkish press to be close to a deal to sign the defender. Takvim reported that a transfer was close, however, the latest reports from Fanatik claim that Arsenal have joined the race along with Sevilla.
The player is reported to have a €25 million (£21.5m) release clause, with bids so far thought to be in the region of €15m (£12.9m). Such is the scale of Arsenal's requirements this summer, such deals would represent a small outlay compared to other targets, with up to £100 million expected to be required for the Gunners to sign Declan Rice for example.
Spurs, meanwhile, face an overhaul of their own, with Postecoglou expected to embark on an overhaul of the playing squad at Spurs. he will be tasked with changing the squad following Conte's restrictive 3-4-3 system as he is expected to embark on a more expansive 4-3-3 system, with technical, ball-playing defenders required.
Speaking earlier in the season Galatasaray Club president Dursun Ozbek revealed that he would consider summer sales once the title race had been resolved: “We do not intend to sell any players,” Ozbek told Sabah.
“We have a very good squad, and we are fighting for the title. Besides Sacha Boey and Victor Nelsson, there are offers for three or four more players because the squad is a very good squad.”
Postecoglou has been renowned for shrewd recruitment during his career, with players signed from smaller leagues and clubs and establishing them at a higher level. This philosophy is thought to be favoured by Daniel Levy, with the club aiming to return to the transfer strategy which proved successful during Mauricio Pochettino's reign.
However, there have been emerging links for Spurs to sign Harry Maguire, which would represent a different approach. This is thought to be a move to appease Harry Kane, which would be one of the Australian's key early objectives as he seeks to retain his star player during the summer transfer window.
