Granit Xhaka returns to the Arsenal starting XI for their Premier League clash with Manchester City. The Swiss international missed Friday’s clash with West Ham due to illness, but is fit to return for this top of the table clash.
That is the only change to the Gunners side, which means that Rob Holding continues at the back with Alex Zinchenko at left back, Ben White at right back and Gabriel joining him in the middle.
In midfield it’s Thomas Partey alongside Xhaka and Martin Odegaard. This means that Fabio Vieira drops to the bench. It looks like a back four for Arsenal despite suspicions that Mikel Arteta could switch to a back three.

In the frontline Bukayo Saka continues, with Gabriel Martinelli on the left. Gabriel Jesus is up front for Arsenal. Among the subs are Leandro Trossard who will be looking to impact things from the bench. Emile Smith Rowe is also there, while Reuell Walters isn’t included after starring for the Arsenal under-18s in their FA Youth Cup defeat to West Ham.
Arsenal starting XI vs Manchester City: Ramsdale; White, Holding, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.
