Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been handed the club's number one jersey ahead of the 2022/23 season.
The England international donned the No.32 shirt last season following his move from Sheffield United, eventually displacing former No.1 Bernd Leno, who started just four Premier League fixtures throughout the 2021/22 campaign. Leno was officially unveiled as a Fulham player on Tuesday afternoon, allowing the Gunners to announce that Ramsdale would take his predecessor's shirt number.
The club's statement read: "Ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, Aaron Ramsdale has taken the men’s first-team number one shirt. The England international has moved from his previous number 32 following Bernd Leno’s move to Fulham.

"Following his move from Sheffield United in August 2021, Rambo forced his way into the side after some impressive displays and made 37 appearances in all competitions during his debut campaign, which also coincided with a first England cap in November 2021 in the Three Lions’ 1-0 victory against San Marino."
Ramsdale enjoyed a solid debut campaign at the Emirates Stadium, registering 12 Premier League clean sheets in his 34 league outings, also proving instrumental during Arsenal's build-up phase given his notable distribution ability. The Gunners have added another shot-stopper this summer, signing American international Matt Turner from MLS side New England Revolution, a deal they completed in January.
