Arsenal close in on Mykhaylo Mudryk transfer with confidence over £80m agreement

Arsenal are growing in confidence that a deal can finally be struck for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk this month.

The clubs have been locked in negotiations over the Ukraine international since last month and the Gunners have already had two bids rejected.

Shakhtar value Mudryk at £88million and it is understood that Arsenal have now expressed a willingness to part with around £60m up front.

There is confidence that a transfer worth a total of approximately £75m to £80m can be struck, with the sticking point now being the add-ons involved.

Shakhtar want assurances over the structuring of those bonuses and the probability that they can be met during Mudryk’s time at Arsenal.

Chelsea have also expressed an interest in signing the 22-year-old in January, but Arsenal remain confident they will win the race due to the player’s desire to join them. Mudryk is Mikel Arteta’s no1 transfer target this month.
