Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd given Joao Felix transfer verdict amid Paris Saint-Germain decision

Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix has many admirers throughout Europe with Paris-Saint Germain, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United all interested, although two clubs are now at the front of the queue. Felix impressed at the World Cup with Portugal and his stance on playing football with his national team compared to Atletico has peaked the interest of many clubs.

After scoring against Ghana and grabbing two assists for Portugal against Switzerland, Felix made some comments that indicated that he's currently not enjoying his football in Spain., he told Sport TV: “The way of playing with Portugal and then at the club is different. When the conditions are favourable, things go better."

Felix's Atletico admission and the comments of CEO Gil Marin have certainly given those interested clubs a boost as Marin said: “Joao Felix has top level but because of his relationship with Simeone and game time… we feel that makes sense to consider potential bids to sell him."

Those potential bids could arrive from a number of clubs in January with PSG thought to be in the lead for Felix, especially as Lionel Messi's contract is up in the summer of 2023.

However, le10Sport are reporting that Man Utd and Arsenal are the two clubs who will battle it out for the 23-year-old with PSG "not interested".

Fabrizio Romano has further supported those claims, revealing talks have not begun involving PSG and do not look like they are going to in the winter window, with the Parisians prioritising a move for Milan Skriniar.

Felix's price tag remains a significant stumbling block with Atletico hopeful they can recoup a significant chunk of the £113million they paid to Benfica for his services, but a possible deal to acquire his services may have been revealed.

According to British journalist Duncan Castles, Atletico are prepared to let Felix join a Premier League club on loan next month. The La Liga club are reportedly asking for an £8million loan fee, plus the player’s salary to be paid in full, while there would be no contractual option to buy.

A cut-price deal for Felix seems far more appealing to both United and Arsenal as both clubs look set for a January transfer battle in search of respective Cristiano Ronaldo and Gabriel Jesus replacements.
