Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United vying for world-class bargain for £8m in January transfer window

Arsenal and Chelsea could land Atletico Madrid striker Joao Felix for just £8million this January amid links with a move for the striker in the coming weeks. The 23-year-old looks set to make an exit from the Spanish giants after a difficult run at the club since his big-money move from Benfica.

The Gunners are in the market for a potential striker option in January, following a knee injury to Gabriel Jesus that is set to keep him out for a few months. Manager Mikel Arteta hinted at a move to replace the Brazilian in the window: "He’s [Jesus] going through surgery so that tells you the extent of the injury…We will be in the market always active and we will assess the biggest opportunities that we have."

Felix is linked as one of the options for the Gunners to solve that issue, but they aren't the only side interested as London rivals Chelsea are also in the picture. The Blues are also in the market for a striker as Armando Broja is set to miss the rest of the season with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

With plenty of links for strikers, football.london understands that Chelsea have been scouting a move for Felix, but they are yet to act on any interest. Joining the two Premier League sides are Manchester United and PSG too, all circling over any activity surrounding the Portugal international.

Amid rumours of an exit from Atletico, the Daily Record reports that the striker could be available for just £8million on a loan until the end of the season. The side that would take him on would have to pay the full wages and there would be no obligation for them to buy at the end of it.

After an impressive World Cup campaign for Felix, Diego Simeone had his say on a transfer, saying: "I only focus on Atléti to win. Our CEO words on João’s future? Whatever has to happen, will happen. Here no one is untouchable."
