Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard makes Premier League title admission amid Man City battle

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard admits he's dreaming about winning this season's Premier League title as the Gunners continue to battle with Manchester City at the top of the table.

Mikel Arteta's men currently find themselves eight points clear of second-placed City. However, Pep Guardiola's side have a game in hand on their title rivals with the two sides still to face each other at the Etihad next month.

The Gunners secured a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, while the Blues booked a spot in the FA Cup semi-finals as they chase trophies on three fronts. Arsenal were knocked out of the Europa League last week on penalties by Sporting Lisbon and were beaten by City in the FA Cup in January so have a sole Premier League focus.

Odegard has given his verdict on the title race and his ambition to end the season as a Premier League winner. When asked by talkSPORT if he is dreaming of lifting the trophy in May, he replied: "Yeah, you can always dream!

"It’s been my dream since I was a baby, so of course you can dream. But the main thing is to stay calm, to keep working hard and to keep pushing every day to make sure that we get better every day."

He added: "I think everyone enjoys it, we are where we want to be. We have to enjoy it. We are in a good position, so we want to enjoy this, and the connection with the fans, within the team, everyone is so together now. So we just have to keep going the same way and keep pushing every day to get better and to stay where we are."
