Arsenal can receive £37m windfall from three January transfers to fund Edu's striker hunt

It has been a quiet January transfer window for Arsenal, who are yet to bring in any first-team players this month.

The Gunners spent more than £140million during the summer, more than any other Premier League club and have flirted with the idea of signing a centre-forward in the winter window, with Dusan Vlahovic the main target.

However, as football.london reported earlier this month, Vlahovic has told close friends that he favoured a move to Inter Milan or Juventus and the Serbia international now appears set to join the latter before Monday night's deadline.

As technical director Edu searches for alternatives, the Brazilian transfer chief will also be keen to offload several fringe players to help fund a move for a top-class frontman.

With that being said, football.london takes a closer look at three players that the north Londoners could sell in the coming days as Mikel Arteta looks to reshape his squad in quest of a top-four finish.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Rewind 18 months and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was Arsenal's talisman, netting a brace in the 2020 FA Cup final to clinch Arteta his first trophy as a manager.

However, a lot has changed since then, with the Gabon international struggling for goals before being stripped of his captaincy duties last month following a disciplinary breach.

football.london understands that the Gunners are open to offers for Aubameyang, who is valued at £13.5m on Transfermarkt, and despite receiving an offer from Saudi team Al Nassr, football.london understands that the former Borussia Dortmund international would prefer to stay in Europe, with Marseille and AC Milan expressing interest.

Bernd Leno

Arsenal have been linked with a move for New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner, a move that would likely mean backup 'keeper Bernd Leno leaves the north Londoners as a result.

football.london understands that the German international wants to leave the Emirates Stadium this month, with newly-rich Newcastle United interested in bringing the former Bayer Leverkusen shot-stopper on loan until the end of the current campaign.

Leno has less than 18 months left on his current deal with the north Londoners and the former Bayer Leverkusen star has already admitted that he is open to a new adventure away from north London.

If the Gunners were able to negotiate some kind of obligation to buy into any deal with the Magpies they could secure £14.4m for his services, according to Transfermarkt's valuation of the player.

Eddie Nketiah

Hale End academy graduate Eddie Nketiah looks to be on his way out of Arsenal, with the 22-year-old also into the final six months of his deal with the club.

Nketiah has spent the majority of his Gunners career playing third fiddle to both Alexandre Lacazette and Aubameyang and Arteta has consistently urged the youngster, who is valued at £9million on Transfermarkt, to stay with the north London outfit.

Speaking in December, the Spaniard said: "I tell you every day that we want to keep Eddie. We see how he trains, that’s what he does every day, he works so hard and puts the ball in the net every session.

"I am really delighted with him. Every time we have needed him he has always responded."

However, the former England Under-21 international has rejected a new contract to stay with Arteta's side and both Palace and Brighton have been heavily linked with a transfer over the last few months.
