Arsenal have been linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka. Mikel Arteta and Edu are eyeing a left-sided centre-back in order to provide healthy competition for Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Gunners had made a bid for Lisandro Martinez in the summer before the defender opted to move to Old Trafford. The plan was to predominantly play the Argentine at left-back but have him available as competition in the left-centre back role. Whilst Takehiro Tomiyasu can do exactly that, he isn't naturally left-footed, which means Edu is still on the hunt for someone to properly rival Gabriel in that position.
Ndicka was incidentally touted with a move to north London in the summer, with Arsenal's rivals Tottenham believed to be interested. Nothing of note materialised, but the Gunners should be better positioned to rival Spurs for his signature if they revisit their interest in the near future.

As per the Evening Standard, the Frenchman's situation is being monitored by a number of clubs, including Juventus, but he's an option for Arsenal who want to strengthen their defence.
Ndicka is out of contract at the end of the season and whilst Frankfurt want him to sign a new contract, they could be tempted to sell in January to avoid losing him for free next summer.
Signing the 23-year-old would result in Arsenal being very close to having Arteta's ideal defensive line. It would also result in them having the necessary required depth (two players in each position) to compete for bigger honours. Let's see how the situation plays out.
