Arsenal set a new date for an unwanted Premier League record in their defeat to Manchester City which could prove fatal to their title hopes. The Gunners headed into the clash with their momentum built up over the last few months dissipating after three successive draws, with two coming after Mikel Arteta's side had gone two goals ahead.
In recent weeks, the Gunners have not looked like the team that have reigned at the top of the league for the majority of the season. The back injury suffered by William Saliba now looks to be severely affecting the Gunners, with his absence causing a number of traits that made the team so good tactically, no longer in play.
The frantic draw against Liverpool in isolation was a point gained, especially with the onslaught the Arsenal goal received in the second half. However, the two draws that followed were detrimental blows to the Gunners hopes of winning the title.

In search of their first win in four, Arsenal travelled to the Etihad Stadium knowing a victory was crucial. However, they were not allowed to breathe by City, who simply dominated the contest in every area of the pitch, with the 4-1 score line perhaps even flattering the visitors.
That defeat now means it is four games without a win and just three points secured from a possible 12. Not only did Arsenal relinquish control of the title race in Wednesday's game, but another league fixture without a win saw Arsenal write themselves into the history books with an unwanted statistic.
For the first time since 2008, a team that sit top of the league have gone four games without a win and the last team to suffer that fate was also Arsenal. With the London derby against Chelsea rescheduled, Arsenal could lose their spot at the top this weekend if City beat Fulham.
The Emirates Stadium clash with Chelsea is a must-win for Arsenal, especially as City are in action against West Ham the following day, which affords the Gunners the opportunity to put the pressure back on the reigning champions.
A victory for Pep Guardiola's side on Saturday takes them top, but a return to winning ways for Arsenal next Tuesday would see them leapfrog their title rivals before their home clash with the Hammers the following day.
