Arsenal bench cam captures Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's reaction to late Liverpool goal

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had a muted reaction to seeing Liverpool equalise against his former side Arsenal on the weekend.

The English midfielder spent six years in north London with the Gunners but grew tired of being utilised as a winger and opted to join Liverpool in 2017 with the promise of playing more games in central midfield.

Oxlade-Chamberlain's career at Anfield has been tumultuous, with injuries largely preventing the midfielder from nailing down a permanent place in any of Jurgen Klopp's teams over the past six years. The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, when he is expected to leave Liverpool.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has made only 13 appearances for the Reds this season but wasn't named in the squad for Liverpool's Premier League clash with Arsenal last time out.

He was present at Anfield though, and was behind the dugout to watch his current side overturn a two-nil deficit and recover a point against his table-topping former team.

Arsenal recorded all of manager Mikel Arteta's movements on the day, filming his reaction to both Gunners goals as well as Mohamed Salah's penalty miss and Liverpool's comeback.

Upon Roberto Firmino scoring a last-gasp equaliser for the Reds, a frustrated Arteta threw his hands in the air as the Liverpool bench and dugout celebrated wildly behind him.

Oxlade-Chamberlain could be seen briefly standing up to get a better look at the action as bodies jumped off their seats in front of him.

He then momentarily clapped before quickly sitting back down, apparently showing respect for his former side.

Clubs are already showing an interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain, who will be available to sign for free in the summer transfer window.

Former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton recently spoke out about the 29-year-old and backed him to revitalise his career at another Premier League side next season.

Hutton told Football Insider: "Definitely [he has a future at another Premier League club]. He has been involved in the Liverpool team this season but it is probably not enough for him. He has had his injury problems but he has to play regularly to get back to his best.

"When you think about Aston Villa, they are trying to go places, we know what Newcastle are trying to achieve. They are all good options for him. I think he has still got the ability, if he keeps himself fit, to play at that level no problem."
