Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has suggested that the Gunners could potentially be suitors for Gareth Bale once the ex-Tottenham forward leaves Real Madrid. The Welshman’s contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expires at the end of the campaign and it appears highly unlikely that he will extend his stay in Spain.
Bale has of course been with the La Liga giants since a record-breaking 2013 move from Tottenham Hotspur and despite writing his name into club folklore, he has never quite fit. He has been subject to continued criticism during his spell with Madrid - something that has increased during the current campaign.
Due to a multitude of injury problems, he has made just five appearances in all competitions this season and looks certain to wave goodbye on a free transfer. Whilst it remains to be seen where his future lies - rumours of another return to Spurs, a move to hometown club Cardiff City or even retirement circling - Seaman has suggested that Arsenal could potentially make a move for the 32-year-old.

Speaking on his Seaman Says podcast, he said: “I was going to say Arsenal, but I just realised he [Bale] played for Tottenham. I would take him, I would take him all day long.
“He’s a quality player, there’s no doubt about that. He’ll come back and hopefully, he’ll play in the Premier League.
“Quality like that is good to see, especially with his free-kicks. It’s not just his free-kicks, it’s his delivery as well, the corners and the free-kicks he crosses in. It’s like James Ward-Prowse.”
Bale of course did seal a return to the Premier League last term as he rejoined former club Tottenham on a season-long loan. He ended up making 34 outings for the north Londoners throughout the campaign - just 19 of those being starts.
Nevertheless, the winger was hugely productive as he bagged 16 goals in all competitions - his most prolific season in front of goal since the 2017/18 campaign when he lifted the Champions League with Real Madrid.
