Arsenal and Tottenham have both reportedly joined the race with Chelsea to try and sign VfB Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa.
The 24-year-old has been in fine form for the Germans this season, with seven direct goal contributions in all competitions. Sosa, who is valued at £18million, sees his contract with Stuttgart expire in the summer of 2025, but continues to attract attention from around Europe.
football.london understands that Chelsea scouts have watched Sosa this season - including last month, most recently, with the Blues interested in signing a new left-back due to their injury problems this season in that department.
Ben Chilwell is set to be sidelined for the remainder of the season, leaving Thomas Tuchel with just Marcos Alonso as his only natural left wing-back option. However, the Spaniard could leave at the end of the season - meaning Chelsea could be in the market for a new player in that position.
It looks like Sosa could be that man, but BILD reporter Christian Falk is claiming that Arsenal and Tottenham are also interested in the Croatian defender.
Falk tweeted: "@ChelseaFC discussed a transfer of Borna Sosa already in the winter. Now @Arsenal and @SpursOfficial are also interested of a transfer in the summer."
What has been said about Sosa?
Sosa has been compared to ex-England captain David Beckham in the past, with Stuttgart sporting director and former Arsenal chief, Sven Mislintat, speaking about the left-back's qualities back in 2021.
Speaking to BILD, via the Bundesliga website, Sosa said: "Borna's said himself that David Beckham is his role model, and I think he has the same qualities.
"He puts in crosses from every angle: sometimes chipped, sometimes drilled, sometimes flat, sometimes in behind, sometimes to the front post, other times to the back post. His left foot is a real weapon."
