Arsenal and Tottenham face missing out on AS Roma playmaker Nicolo Zaniolo after the 23-year-old's agent hinted at his client extending his stay at the Stadio Olimpico.
Zaniola has made a name for himself at Roma after joining the club in 2018 from Serie A rivals Inter Milan. The midfielder has appeared 125 times for I Giallorossi and has become a key member of Jose Mourinho's squad.
However, his contract in Italy expires at the end of next season and he's yet to commit his future. The delay has resulted in clubs across Europe becoming interested in the player and the Premier League has become a likely destination.

Zaniola was strongly linked with a move to Antonio Conte's men in the summer after helping Roma lift the UEFA Conference League but he remained with the club. Now, the list of clubs interested in his signature has increased with reports in Italy suggest Arsenal have joined the race.
Romagiallorossa.it have claimed that Mikel Arteta's side are waiting for an update on Zaniola's contract situation before deciding to make their move. However, any potential move looks unlikely after his agent Claudio Vigorelli provided an update on his client's future.
"There are no clouds on the horizon, we have an excellent rapport with Roma and Tiago Pinto and we’ve agreed that we’ll discuss a contract extension in the future when the club think it’s best," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Now, the most important thing is to focus on work and performance on the pitch.
"The club know that we are ready to sit down and negotiate. I repeat that the rapport with Pinto is excellent and Zaniolo is happy in Rome and with fans."
