Arsenal and Man United's next transfer decided as 'new Luis Suarez' drops major hint on next club

Arsenal's progress on and off the pitch in recent seasons has been clear to the world as the side compete for their first Premier League title in years. While that will be the main focus of the players and coaching staff, the hierarchy will have ideas on how they can continue that momentum for the foreseeable future.

That means continuing to make the smart transfer decisions that have got them towards the top again, futureproofing themselves with young talent. While there is already plenty promising superstars in the side, there could always be more and in other positions, one of which is at striker.

One player that has been linked with filling that role is Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque, a player that has been dubbed by some as the "new Luis Suarez". His impressive performances for Brazil in the South American under-20s championships has drawn plenty of interest from Europe.

Along with the Gunners, rivals Manchester United have been linked with the Athletico Paranaense youngster, looking to land the next big prospect. However, amid such links, Roque himself has discussed a potential next move, throwing doubt over a switch to the Premier League.

That was as he revealed his dream to play for Barcelona, telling Sport: "I work for this [A move to Barcelona]. The competitions I played last year, the Libertadores and the Brasileirao, will help me to be well prepared when I go to Europe.

“I am very happy to be 18 years old, which now allows me to play abroad. My goal is to continue working with humility, because with faith in God everything will turn out well. I try to stay focused on day to day and give my best at Athletico. I am sure that, doing well here, going to Europe will be a consequence.

“It is not only a dream of mine but also of any player. If I end up going to Barca, it will be a great joy for my family and for me. For this reason, I have to continue working hard and hope that everything will come to fruition over time.”

The situation could echo that of Raphinha's last summer, where Arsenal and Chelsea were in talks to sign the Leeds winger, but player power prevailed as he held out for his dream move to Barcelona. It remains to be seen whether the Blaugrana will have the financial wiggleroom to agree a transfer this time though, potentially opening the door to Arsenal and United.
