Arsenal and Chelsea sent Moises Caicedo transfer clue as Real Madrid aid Declan Rice backup plan

Arsenal and Chelsea have been informed how much it could cost to sign Moises Caicedo this summer. The 21-year-old midfielder continues to be been heavily linked with a big move this summer following a meteoric rise to superstardom at Brighton.

football.london understands that the Gunners submitted two bids for the Ecuador international in January, but both were swiftly rejected. Then, in March, Caicedo penned a new long-term deal, keeping him at the Amex Stadium until 2027.

Initially, it seemed as if his extension would rule out an exit in the near future, though that doesn't seem to be the case with Chelsea expected to make a move in the coming weeks. football.london understands that, while the Blues hold an interest in the Ecuadorian, they're hesitant that he could cost a significant amount.

While Arsenal have been prioritising a move for Declan Rice recently, the prospect of the Gunners revisiting a deal for Caicedo has always loomed over Chelsea – especially with Manchester City now said to be in the race for the West Ham captain. But, in order to avoid any complications, the west Londoners are expected to act swiftly.

According to CBS Sports, Chelsea will make a 'big push' to sign Caicedo, who is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge. The report states that a deal worth £80million, plus £10million in add-ons, 'appears possible'.

CBS Sports outline that those close to Caicedo insist that their client shouldn't be going for anything more than what Real Madrid paid for Aurelien Tchouameni (£86million). Ironically, the France international could be on the move himself this summer.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, the Blues submitted an opening bid of €60million (£51.4million) for Tchouameni earlier this summer, but it was swiftly turned down. The report states that Chelsea are considering whether or not to raise their offer to €80million (£68.5million) – one which could tempt Los Blancos.

Regardless of whether the reports from Spain are true, football.london understands that the west Londoners held an interest in Tchouameni since the early stages of his career at Bordeaux. At one stage, Chelsea looked set to sign the Frenchman but, when Roman Abramovich handed over the reins to Todd Boehly, a deal collapsed.
