Arsenal and Chelsea sent defiant warning ahead of £85m double Premier League transfer swoop

Former Leicester City defender Christian Fuchs has warned Arsenal and Chelsea that the Foxes can ‘hold onto’ Youri Tielemans and Wesley Fofana amid considerable interest in the pair.

The former has just a year-and-a-half left on his deal at the King Power Stadium and has been linked with a move to a number of prominent clubs around Europe, including Arsenal.

Elsewhere, Fofana has hugely impressed during his brief spell in the Midlands, with previous reports suggesting that Chelsea could vie with Real Madrid for his services as they aim to find a natural successor to Antonio Rudiger, who sees his deal with the Blues expire at the end of the current campaign.

It would certainly not be a surprise to see either Fofana or Tielemans move away from Leicester, with the Foxes having developed a reputation for selling their star players - Riyad Mahrez, Harry Maguire, N’Golo Kante and Ben Chilwell have been prime examples over the last few seasons.

However, any deal is not anticipated to be cheap, with the pair's current combined valued standing at £85m, according to transfermarkt.

Amid questions over their futures, Premier League winner Christian Fuchs has suggested that his former side are not under any obligations to sell anymore.

Talking to GGRecon, the Austrian defender said: “I think they can continue to hold onto their big name players.

“Leicester is a place where you can express yourself and they make you feel really appreciated and valued as a player.

“You have to realise that if a big club comes in then it may be enticing for some players, but Leicester has grown in stature to a point where it's no longer seen as a small club. Despite some bad results this season they continue to be competitive with everyone.”

Tielemans has sparkled once again for Leicester this season, the 24-year-old having netted six goals and notched three assists in all competitions.

The campaign has not been as productive for teammate Fofana though, with the Frenchman having not yet taken to the pitch due to a devastating ankle break suffered in pre-season action.

He was one of the star performers for Brendan Rodgers last term, however, as Leicester lifted the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium and sealed a fifth-placed finish.
