Arsenal and Chelsea given major transfer advice to sign their own Erling Haaland in £70m deal

Arsenal and Chelsea have been told one of their striking targets who could be on the move this summer is close to the level of Erling Haaland. The Manchester City ace has scored 52 goals in all competitions from as many games in the 2022/23 season and can help Pep Guardiola's men win the Champions League against Inter next Saturday which would see them complete the treble.

In Saturday's FA Cup final win over Manchester United, Haaland was mostly kept quiet and Inter will be hoping he has a limited impact during the clash in Istanbul to increase their chances of winning. With several teams looking to sign a striker this summer, City making a move for Haaland 12 months ago looks to have been a masterstroke with Guardiola finally having his answer to Sergio Aguero who left the club in 2021 after a challenging final season.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea are in the hunt for a new striker with Victor Osimhen, Dusan Vlahovic and Lautaro Martinez on their shortlist. Arsenal have also showed an interest in the latter two names and could look to bolster their attacking ranks in the summer window.

Martinez will be the man tasked to match Haaland's output for Inter in the Champions League final and Jurgen Klinsmann believes the difference in quality between the two is not as big as most think.

Speaking to The Mirror, the former Tottenham man said: “Haaland is an incredible No.9 - and he could demolish a bus. But Lautaro has evolved and is not far behind. He’s on the same level as the top strikers.”

The 25-year-old has had one of his best campaigns in front of goal, netting on 28 occasions which included the strike against AC Milan that made sure of Inter's place in the final. Martinez also helped Argentina win the World Cup which has seen his stock rise considerably and Premier League sides take note.

Manchester United are also showing an interest, but the Nerazzurri's price which stands between £60m and £70m, according to The Times, could be too high and thus put interested parties off the deal.
