Dinamo Moscow youngster Arsen Zakharyan is “close” to a move to Chelsea, the player’s agent has confirmed.
During the busiest summer for the club in recent memory, the new Boehly-Clearklake regime are helping Thomas Tuchel and Neil Bath fund a project billed as ‘Vision 2030’.
Head of Youth Development Bath is being trusted with an overhaul as the club aim to create a teenage team operating below the starting XI, one able to plug gaps when needed while building towards leading roles in the future.
Cesare Casadei became the most recent acquisition on that front, completing an initial £12.6m move to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan, following the likes of Carney Chukwuemeka and Omari Hutchinson through the door.
Zakharyan, 19, is a midfielder able to operate either on the left or in more central areas and made 28 stars in the Russian Premier League last season, scoring seven goals while laying on a further eight assists.
Agent Pavel Andreev told RB Sport: “It’s true. The agreement is close".
