ARREST (1:30) can lay down the law for Team Gosden in another warm renewal of the Epsom Derby. Frankie Dettori can make his last ride in the Blue Riband a winning one on this scopey son of Frankel . The colt showed huge potential when third to Nostrum on debut over seven furlongs at Sandown. He soon confirmed that impression when chinning Desert Order upped a furlong at the same track. The three-year-old improved gain when demolishing Sea Of Roses in another hot novice at Ffos Las. He then just missed out on Group 1 glory when edged by Dubai Mile in the Criterium De Saint-Cloud. Those terrific efforts marked the Juddmonte raider out as a serious contender for this year’s Derby. He further boosted his credentials when slamming Adelaide River on his return in the Chester Vase. The bay looks a potential superstar so he can bring his rivals to book under his world-class jockey.

The powerful combination can also land the Lester Piggott Handicap with TORITO (3:55). The three-year-old opened his account by decisively defeating the useful Sir Raj at Nottingham. The colt was then unlucky to encounter Derby entry Artistic Star upped to 1m 2f at Sandown. There is plenty more to come from the son of Kingman who can cash-in on a nice opening mark.
Charlie Appleby’s HIGHLAND AVENUE (12:50) is the path to profit in the Diomed Stakes. The gelding looked smart when slamming Secret Protector in last year’s Fielden at Newmarket. However, it’s fair to say that he didn’t set match that lofty standard for the rest of the season. The five-year-old bounced back when an eye-catching third to Adayer on his return back at HQ. The grey should be fighting fit so he can claim this weaker contest back over an extended mile.
PROSPEROUS VOYAGE (2:10) can chart a course to victory in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes. Ralph Beckett’s star was a cracking second to Cachet in the 2022 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. She went on to bag a Group 1 of her own when shocking Inspiral in the Falmouth back at HQ. Not as good afterwards, the filly returned with a decent fifth to Via Sistina at the same venue. The four-year-old should be primed so she can resume winning ways on the faster conditions.
Adrian Nicholls’ CAN TO CAN (2:45) can give her rivals a kicking in the Aston Martin Dash. The filly put in some perfectly respectable efforts as a juvenile last season for Team Johnston. The bay didn’t seem to have progressed when last of 13 on debut for her new trainer at Thirsk. However, the three-year-old put that run to good use when thrashing Wasdale at Newcastle. This big prize has been the aim ever since so she can do the business for her ultra-shrewd yard.
ANCIENT TIMES (3:20) can power to victory for Harry Eustace in the Epsom Dash. The sprinter stayed on the upgrade when outbattling Makanah in the Musselburgh Sprint Cup. He wasn’t disgraced again when giving the well-treated Celsius most resistance at Newmarket. However, the gelding then struggled to compete off his inflated mark for the rest of the term. The five-year-old seemed to be on his way back when fourth to Spring Bloom returned to HQ. That was a perfect warm-up so this likeable type can continue his trainer’s tremendous run.
SCAMPI (4:30) looks very tasty for Andrew Balding in the Northern Dancer Handicap. The gelding showed a liking for this venue when comfortably defeating Heat And Dust in July. He put in his best shift since when cosily dismissing Sam Cooke in a competitive event at York. The strong-traveller was value for far more than the half-length verdict so he can follow-up.
PROBE (5:0 ) can hunt ‘em down for Jennie Candlish in the trappy Tokyo Trophy. Useful in Ireland, the speedster crushed Shalaa Asker on his British debut at Wolverhampton. The gelding ran another stormer when chasing home the fast-improving Orazio at Newmarket. However, the bay really excelled himself when downing Chairmanoftheboard returned to HQ. That is excellent form so this thriving five-year-old can make light of a well-earned 7lb penalty.
