A suspect has been arrested following a search after allegedly punching a 9-year-old girl in the face in New York City's Grand Central Terminal. The incident occurred around 11:50 a.m. on Saturday in the dining concourse.
The accused, a 30-year-old man named Jean Carlos Zarzuela, reportedly approached the girl and her mother and punched the child in the face without any apparent reason before fleeing the scene. Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) police officers provided immediate assistance to the girl, who experienced dizziness and pain as a result of the assault. She was promptly taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
Zarzuela, who is known to the MTA police department, was apprehended by authorities on Saturday night and charged with assault.
