Arrest after M8 crash causes lorry to jackknife and leaves two injured

An arrest has been made following the three-vehicle crash on the M8 which wreaked travel chaos in Glasgow this afternoon.

Emergency services raced to the scene on the westbound carriageway near junction 13 at around 11.50am on Friday, January 21.

The motorway was quickly closed in both directions following the incident - which involved a car, a van and a lorry.

Shocking pictures from the scene showed a lorry after it appeared to have jackknifed and crashed into a central reservation amid the collision.

The 25-year-old male driver of the van was uninjured but has been arrested in connection with suspected road traffic offences.
