An Oktoberfest event in Nottinghamshire has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. The event, which was due to take place at Lime Lane Woods in Arnold, was set to celebrate the German Festival on Saturday, October 1.
The Lime Lane Woods was set to be transformed into a Bavarian Hall with trestle tables and benches. The festival was due to serve German pretzels, bratwurst and traditional beers along with performances from a live Oompah band.

Oktoberfest festival organisers confirmed that the event was cancelled as ticket sales had been slow. The Oktoberfest UK event is set to travel across the country with other dates planned for Cardiff, Liverpool and Southport.
A spokesperson at Lime Lane Woods said: "The Oktoberfest event was cancelled by the promoter due to poor ticket sales. The promoters are in the process of automatically refunding all tickets purchased via the outlet where the tickets were bought."
"Notts Maze only provides the site and doesn’t promote, sell or manage the festivals that have taken place at Lime Lane Woods and can only go with what the promoter decides. Notts Maze is really disappointed that this event isn’t going ahead as we were really looking forward to something new coming to Arnold. Hopefully, this is something that will take place in the future."
Oktoberfest fans were quick to comment on the organiser's Oktoberfest Facebook page about what they should do with tickets and to ask for more communication around the event. Ticket sale website Skiddle later updated the information about the event to state it was cancelled and that an email would be sent to visitors to apply for refunds.
