Armie Hammer settles divorce from estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers following years of controversy

Armie Hammer and estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, have finally settled their divorce — nearly three years after her initial filing and a mountain of controversy surrounding Hammer.

The two parties have reached an agreement on subjects including their children, property and spousal support, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ, however the details of that agreement remain unclear.

In 2020, after a decade of marriage, Chambers claimed the couple had irreconcilable differences and was seeking primary physical custody of their two children, 8-year-old Harper Grace and 6-year-old Ford. Meanwhile, Hammer was vying for joint legal and physical custody of their kids.

However, since the initial divorce filing, Hammer has come under immense public scrutiny for allegations of sexual assault and cannibalism.

In May, the L.A. district attorney’s office decided it would not file rape charges against Hammer after an investigation that lasted two years. The DA ruled the case was too murky, due to the “complexity of the relationship” between Hammer and his accuser, Effie Angelova.

Angelova and Hammer reportedly began seeing each other in 2017, while he was married to Chambers. Angelova claims he later became violent and forced himself on her during one of their interactions.

Other women have since come out with similar allegations.

The 36-year-old actor and his family were also the subject of the recent Discovery+ docuseries “House of Hammer,” which looks into the Hammer family's troubling past.

“Through a trove of archives and interviews from survivors and family members, the dark and twisted secrets of the Hammer family come to light,” reads the description of the special. It digs into the “dysfunctional dynasty with its male characters exhibiting all the devastating consequences of privilege gone wild.”
