Armed police surrounded a street after men 'with a gun' were seen acting suspiciously.
Merseyside Police were contacted via 999 at 5.20pm on Tuesday, October 4 asking for their help on New Hey Road in Wirral. A member of the public described how they saw two men acting suspiciously in the area.
Police patrols and armed officers attended the scene, where they arrested four men suspicion of possession of a gun. They were taken to custody where they are being questioned by officers.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "There is no evidence at this stage that a firearm has been discharged or anyone has been injured and no firearms have been recovered. Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area.
"A search of a neighbouring property is also being carried out."
Pictures seen by The ECHO show a large police presence on New Hey Road, including vans, patrol cars and Matrix vehicles. One eyewitness said they also saw officers "pointing guns into a car" on Houghton Road, just a short drive away.
A police helicopter was also seen circling the area for a number of hours.
