Armed police officers deployed to 'disturbance' in East Lothian

ARMED police officers were deployed to a street in East Lothian on Monday. 

At about 10.30pm, Police Scotland were called to a disturbance on the Goose Green Avenue, Musselburgh, close to Musselburgh Racecourse. 

The nature of the incident has not been revealed and police are still investigating. 

Police confirmed to the East Lothian Courier that armed officers were present at the incident. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.30pm on Monday, July 29, police were called to a report of a disturbance in the Goose Green Avenue area of Musselburgh.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident."
