Armed police descend on property as homes evacuated

A MAN has been charged after armed police descended on a property in Falkirk with residents evacuated from their homes.

Officers, including specialist firearms officers, attended a property on Portal Road in Grangemouth at around 12.10pm on Friday after reports of a disturbance.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with outstanding warrants and is due to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Monday.

Residents from the evacuated properties were able to return to their homes around 11.45pm.

There were no reported injuries, police said.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with outstanding warrants following a disturbance in Grangemouth.

“Officers, including specialist firearms officers, attended a property on Portal Road around 12.10pm on Friday, April 4, 2025.

“There were no reported injuries.

“The man was arrested and charged and is due to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Monday, April 7, 2025.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
