Armed police were called to a holiday park in Devon after a serious incident at the clubhouse on Christmas Day. There are local reports that armed police, dog units and a police helicopter were all dispatched to the Welcome Family Holiday Park in Dawlish Warren.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police couldn't disclose full details at this stage, reports Devon Live.
They could confirm there was an incident and that officers remained at the site this morning. Police said: "There was significant disorder at the Welcome Family Holiday Park in Dawlish Warren during the early hours of December 25.
"Police are investigating a GBS [Grievous Bodily Harm] related to the disturbance. Police presence in the area will remain highly visible for the next 24 hours to respond to community concerns."
It is not yet clear what happened during the incident but holiday park staff are said to be "very upset" by the incident. It is also understood that families have left the park as a result of it.
