Armed police called to Cardiff street after reports of person being 'chased by men with weapons'

Police are investigating after a man was reportedly chased through a Cardiff street by a group of males. Armed officers were deployed to the scene on Pendyris Street in Grangetown on Tuesday afternoon (September 27) with a number of police vehicles also seen at the junction with Taffs Mead Embankment.

South Wales Police were called to the incident shortly before 3pm after a man was reportedly chased along Pendyris Street by "a group of males". It was also reported that the group were possibly carrying weapons, leading armed police to be deployed as a precaution.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "Just before 3pm yesterday, South Wales Police received a report of a group of males, possibly with weapons, chasing another male in Pendyris Street.

"Armed police were deployed as a precaution. No suspects or victims were identified and enquiries are on-going."
