Armed police have been called to an ongoing incident in a Scots town amid reports of a man ‘armed with a machete’.

Uniformed officers were in attendance at an address in Kirkconnel, Dumfries and Galloway, at around 9pm on Thursday May 5.

Pictures from the scene show firearms officers standing by the door of the property, which is understood to be an upper floor flat.
