A Franklin man was taken to the emergency room with injuries after two burglars with weapons attacked him at his home, ACT police allege.
The alleged burglary and serious assault took place about 2am on Sunday, August 11.
Police said the victim resident was at home when he noticed two men "acting suspiciously" outside his window.
When he confronted the allegedly armed burglars, police said the men seriously assaulted the victim and demanded the keys to his Mitsubishi Lancer.
The pair allegedly fled in the stolen car which police say they recovered in Dickson later that day.
Police said the victim was hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries as a result.
"No arrests have been made in connection to the incident and police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward," an ACT Policing spokesperson said.
Anyone with information that could assist police was urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. They are requested to quote 7821757. Police said information could be provided anonymously.
