The future of Chelsea striker Armando Broja is becoming a hotter and hotter topic as he continues to go from strength-to-strength during his loan spell with Southampton.
After an impressive performance against Manchester City on Saturday evening, that talk is only set to intensify with many Blues fans calling for the 20-year-old to be given a shot at Stamford Bridge next season.
Broja has scored five goals in 18 Premier League appearances for the Saints, even earning comparisons to Diego Costa for his physical displays.
While football.london understands that Thomas Tuchel will give the Albania international a fair shot during summer pre-season training, Ralf Hasenhuttl has already confirmed Southampton will try to sign him either permanently or on another loan deal.
"We will find the right conversation with the player, the agent and his club," he told a press conference earlier this month.
"We'll find out what they want, what Chelsea want. He likes it here, he enjoys it here. These are all reasons why he is developing.
"We must find the right decision for the boy, if it suits the club then that is even better."
Broja has scored against Leeds, Burnley, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Brentford so far this season but despite not scoring against Pep Guardiola's men, his display was among his most impressive.
Some Chelsea fans speculated that he had stepped up to help his parent club find their way back into the title race, with 13 points separating the Blues from City.
But Broja was asked that exact question after the game on Sky Sports and revealed that Chelsea were not on his mind during the match.
"I wasn’t really thinking about that [doing Chelsea a favour] to be fair," he said.
"I was just trying to concentrate on the team today and trying to get the win. Just a positive result for us and we’re happy."
