Armando Broja breaks silence on huge injury blow as Chelsea striker ruled out for rest of season

Chelsea striker Armando Broja has admitted it is “difficult to process” the news that his season has ended early through injury.

Surgery is required on the 21-year-old’s anterior cruciate ligament after he damaged his knee in Sunday’s friendly against Aston Villa.

As Standard Sport had reported, Broja will miss the rest of the season in a blow confirmed by Chelsea on Wednesday.

In a social media post responding to the news, Broja insisted the injury will prove a “minor setback”.

“Devastated to be ending 2022 in this way,” he wrote on Instagram.

“It’s been difficult to process everything over the past few days, but I am determined to come back even stronger and better than before.

“Everyone has there own journey to the top, this is just a minor setback for the good things to come in the future.

“Thank you to everyone who has sent messages of support. It means a lot. I appreciate them all. I will be back soon.”
