The Arman Tsarukyan UFC Record Solidifies Him As #1 Lightweight Contender
On his debut in the UFC, ‘Akhalkalakets’ was thrown right in at the deep end for sure. He was put in against Islam Makhachev – who is now of course the dominant lightweight king and #1 ranked pound-for-pound UFC fighter on the planet right now.
Tsarukyan went into the fight as a huge underdog with the best UFC betting sites, and was defeated via decision by his Dagestani counterpart. However, the Armenian impressed even in defeat, as well as putting fans on notice that he is a real threat at 155-pounds.

Tsarukyan beat Damir Ismagulov via decision to get back to winning ways, before knocking out Joaquim Silva next. Arman Tsarukyan’s Fight Record Consists Of Nine UFC Wins In 11 Fights
Tsarukyan was then handed a huge fight on the incredible UFC 300 card. ‘Akhalkalakets’ was thrown in against former lightweight king Charles Oliveira, in a fight that would determine the next challenger to Islam Makhachev and the UFC Lightweight Title.
The fight was another extremely close one, but this time it went the way of the Armenian. Tsarukyan outpointed ‘Do Bronx’ over three rounds via split decision, earning his maiden shot at UFC gold in his next fight. This was scheduled for UFC 311 against Islam Makhachev.
However, Tsarukyan was forced to pull out of the fight with Makhachev due to injury just 24 hours before the scheduled bout. After he heals and returns from injury, it is likely we’ll see Arman Tsarukyan get his shot at the 155-pound belt once and for all.
