Arkansas Father Arrested For Shooting Man With Missing Daughter

An Arkansas father was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing a man who was found in a vehicle with the father's missing 14-year-old daughter. The father, Aaron Spencer, 36, reported his daughter missing on Tuesday, prompting Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office deputies to respond to his home. However, before deputies arrived, Spencer discovered his daughter in a vehicle with Michael Fosler, 67, leading to a confrontation between the two men that resulted in Spencer shooting and killing Fosler.

Spencer was arrested on a preliminary charge of first-degree murder, a Class Y felony, and was subsequently booked into the Lonoke County Detention Center. Sheriff John Staley stated that Spencer has not yet been formally charged, with the District Attorney’s Office set to determine the appropriate charges to file.

Heather Spencer, Aaron's wife, revealed on Facebook that Fosler had a history of stalking and raping their daughter, with a previous 'no contact order' in place. She expressed concerns about Fosler's potential threat to their daughter's life and criticized the handling of the situation by law enforcement.

Fosler had been previously arrested for internet stalking of a child and sexual assault in July by another law enforcement agency. Sheriff Staley emphasized his stance against predators and highlighted the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Following the incident, a GoFundMe campaign set up by the child's mother to cover legal fees for Aaron Spencer was removed due to GoFundMe's policy against fundraising for individuals charged with violent crimes. The family is now accepting donations through Venmo and Cash App to support Spencer's legal defense.

The child's mother expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and solidarity from other victims who shared their experiences with Fosler. She described her husband as a hero and emphasized the importance of ensuring his continued presence to protect their family.

The tragic incident remains under investigation as authorities seek to uncover the full details leading up to the shooting.
