Arizona Pet Owner Facing Manslaughter Charge After His 5 Dogs Mauled Man to Death in Street

Martin Martinez, 60, was charged with manslaughter after several of his dogs allegedly attacked and mauled another man to death.

An Arizona man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter after multiple dogs owned by him allegedly attacked and mauled another man to death, police said.

Officials from the Pima County Sheriff's Department responded to a distress call from Tucson at around 6 a.m. March 30, where they found an injured 43-year-old Kevin Renguul, according to Fox 10.

"Upon arrival, deputies located 43-year-old Kevin Renguul lying in the roadway, suffering from severe injuries across his body," PCSD said in a statement following the incident. "Mr. Renguul was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Tragically, on April 2, 2025, Mr. Renguul succumbed to his injuries."

Investigators noted that Renguul's injuries were obtained after he was allegedly attacked by five dogs living at a nearby residence, who managed to escape.

"The dogs were reportedly under the care of 60-year-old Martin Martinez, who housed them on his property. Detectives discovered that the canines had a history of being aggressive and had previously attacked a neighbor," read the statement.

Martinez was then arrested and charged with felony endangerment, felony assault by a vicious animal and manslaughter after Renguul was pronounced dead.
