Arizona Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs has expressed her intention to engage in discussions with the incoming Trump administration regarding the state's border security requirements. Governor Hobbs emphasized that while she is open to collaborating on enhancing certain counter-drug programs in Arizona, she will oppose any policies that could potentially harm her state.

During a press conference held near the border, Governor Hobbs asserted her commitment to protecting Arizona communities and residents from any form of intimidation or threats. She refrained from commenting directly on President Trump's proposed mass deportation measures, citing the need for clear policy details before forming an opinion.

Despite her willingness to cooperate with the administration in securing additional resources for Arizona, Governor Hobbs made it clear that she will advocate fiercely for the state's interests. She emphasized the importance of not diverting essential resources away from critical initiatives by implementing misguided policies that could adversely impact Arizona families.

Speaking to reporters in Nogales, Arizona, Governor Hobbs stated, 'I will be relentless in advocating for those resources from Congress and the White House. What I won’t do is tolerate attacks on Arizona families. I will not allow everyday Arizonans to suffer from misguided policies that will only divert resources from the important work happening here and across our border.'
