There are two tracks that find their way into the top 10 on Billboard’s latest edition of the Billboard Global 200, and they bring some of the most successful pop and hip-hop stars of the past few years into the fray once again.
The Billboard Global 200 is, at its most basic, a ranking of the 200 most-consumed songs in the world every week. The charting company utilizes a formula that combines sales and streaming activity from a plethora of platforms and websites in 200 countries around the globe to create the best-possible list of the tunes billions of people can’t get enough of.
Olivia Rodrigo holds atop the Billboard Global 200 for a second consecutive frame with her new single (and her first track not connected to any film or TV project) “Driver’s License,” which debuted in first place last time around.
Up to a new peak of No. 2 is Ariana Grande’s “34+35,” only now the cut also features two other powerful females: Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion. A newly-released remix version helps the single shoot up the tally, vaulting from No. 11 to the runner-up space.
Almost all of the rest of the songs present inside the top 10 on this week’s Billboard Global 200 either fall from where they ranked on the previous list or hold steady. Down one peg to No. 3 is The Weeknd’s unstoppable “Blinding Lights,” followed closely by Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez’s “Dakiti” at No. 4, 24kGoldn and Iann Dior’s “Mood” at No. 5, BTS’s “Dynamite” at No. 6, and Dua Lipa and DaBaby’s “Levitating” and SZA’s “Good Days,” which are non-movers at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively.
New to the top 10 on the Billboard Global 200 chart is The Weeknd’s “Save Your Tears,” the latest focus from his gargantuan album After Hours. The track steps up from No. 13, giving the Canadian R&B and pop superstar two spaces inside the highest arena on the tally, which remains a rare feat for any name.
Closing out the top 10 this week is Justin Bieber’s “Anyone,” which falls from No. 6.
