Ariana Grande's 'Eternal Sunshine' Album Certified Platinum By RIAA

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande's latest album, 'Eternal Sunshine,' has achieved a significant milestone by being certified platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). This recognition is awarded to albums that have reached at least one million equivalent units in the U.S. through a combination of sales and streaming activity.

'Eternal Sunshine' is only the second album released in 2024 to attain platinum status, following Billie Eilish's 'Hit Me Hard and Soft.' Eilish's album secured the certification just a few days before Grande's, marking a close race between the two pop icons.

Jason Derulo's 'Nu King' is the only other album from 2024 to have been certified gold, thanks to the success of its singles that contributed to its swift recognition by the RIAA.

Grande's singles from 'Eternal Sunshine' have also been garnering platinum certifications, with 'The Boy Is Mine' and 'We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)' both achieving platinum and double platinum status, respectively.

The achievement of 'Eternal Sunshine' adds to Grande's track record of success, with all her albums now having received platinum certifications. The singer strategically released the album early in the year to focus on promoting it before shifting her attention to the upcoming 'Wicked' movies.

As the music industry continues to evolve, Grande's platinum certification serves as a testament to her enduring popularity and the strong reception of 'Eternal Sunshine' among fans and listeners.
