Argos shoppers rush to buy heated clothes airer that costs pennies to run

Shoppers wanting to cut back on their energy bills are going to want to head to Argos.

The retail giant is selling a £55 heated clothes airer online - and shoppers claim it is more cost-effective than using a tumble dryer.

As the cold snap continues, many people will be wanting to find a cheaper way to dry their laundry without making heating or electricity bills soar.

One item that will help you cut your spending is the £55 Minky Wing Heated Clothes Airer - which is said to cost less than 8p an hour to run. Heated clothes airers are popular with households on a budget for saving money and energy when drying laundry.

The energy-efficient item has already racked up hundreds reviews of five-star reviews from customers who say it "makes a huge difference".

Some of its top features include foldable wings, which allow you to dry more clothes at one time, and a drying capacity of 16kg.

There's 12m of drying space overall, and the Minky Wing Heated Clothes Airer can even be folded down flat for easy storage.

Argos claims that it costs less than 8p an hour to run, which is a lot less compared to the 34p it would cost for one tumble dryer cycle.

In a five-star review, one impressed shopper said: "This really helps with drying clothes at a more cost effective way rather than using a tumble dryer. It does take longer and you do have to rotate the clothes but it is far better than having a house full of damp clothes on your radiators. Pleased that it came with the drying cover too."

Another penned: "With rising fuel bills I wanted to buy an airer to use instead of the tumble dryer. This one was a suitable style and the right size for me.The price was reasonable too. It folds up for storage and definately saves money, it's brilliant."
