Martin Lewis's Money Saving Expert (MSE) website has been keeping people advised on the best ways to save money in the ongoing cost of living crisis. With so many people struggling to stay warm because of rising energy bills, people are looking for any way they can to stay warm without going bankrupt.
MSE says that halogen heaters are a cost effective way to save money and keep warm as temperatures continue to plummet. The Manchester Evening News reports they are listed as an effective way to warm up quickly.
The MSE team says: “Halogen heaters are directional. Once on, you instantly feel the heat. As soon as you turn them off, the heat quickly dissipates.”

One person wrote: "My wife required a little extra heating whilst watching TV - so, a few weeks ago, I ordered a Beldray heater online and collected it the next next morning. It could not have been more simple and straight forward - thankfully, my wife is delighted with it. Moreover, it avoids having to use the more-expensive gas fire - it directs the warmth straight onto her."
Another said: "I bought this heater as I didn’t want to heat the whole house when I’m working from home in one room, it’s ideal for heating only where is needed."
Someone else said the Beldray halogen heater was an "amazing way to keep warm with very little use of electricity." They went on to say they "recommend this product for the rest of my friends and family."
A fourth raved: "Very good value for money, cheap to run, safety feature causes cut out if they're knocked over and they put out a fantastic amount of heat (I bought two 'cos they're quite compact and it means we can heat upstairs and down); would recommend and would buy again."
You can buy the Beldray 1.2kW Halogen Heater for £40 on the Argos website here.
