Argos shoppers rave about £45 energy-saving product that costs 1p a night to run

Argos shoppers have been blown away after discovering the "perfect" energy-saving item that slashes heating bills and keeps them cosy all night.

The ongoing cold snap in the UK means we should be trying to stay as warm as possible when we're at home, but soaring energy costs means that having the heating on all night just isn't affordable.

Luckily, the high street giant has came out with an affordable alternative to central heating - and it costs pennies to run, Manchester Evening News reports.

Argos' £45 Dreamland Antibacterial Heated Underblanket has been hailed as a brilliant way of keeping cosy without having to blast the heating 24/7. The single blanket costs £45. A double is £55 and the Kingsize version costs £65.

Each blanket has four different heat settings, as well as overheat protection for extra peace of mind. However, it's recommended that you turn the it off before falling asleep so that your core body temperature is regulated.

There's a handy timer for this, and the blanket heats up in just five minutes. It also only costs 1p to run each night, making it the perfect alternative to having the heating on - and shoppers have been obsessed.

One five-star reviewer wrote: "I've had this for over a week now and I find it so relaxing to lie on. I've thought it's like a Turkish, hot stone massage. It's very easy to operate and clearly runs through a safety check at each use." Another said: "Warms the bed very quickly, stays on safely all night on low setting and is very economical to run. Also it’s full length, so warm feet! Very pleased with the purchase."

A third shopper said: "I bought two of these for my daughter and I and we both love them. My attic bedroom becomes quite chilly but this warms up quickly and I can leave it on low safely all night. Thoroughly recommend."

And a final happy customer penned: "Controllable, easy to use and nice and warm. So nice not to get into a cold bed and cheaper to use than boiling a kettle for a hot water bottle."
